The sand mixer is a device that uniformly mixes the components in the molding sand and enables the binder to effectively coat the surface of the sand grains. The sand mixer utilizes the relative movement of the grinding wheel and the grinding disc to crush the materials placed between the two by rolling and grinding. The sand mixer mixes the materials while crushing the materials. It is a piece of ideal equipment for producing non-burning bricks, lime-sand bricks, cement bricks, refractory bricks, crushed and mixed fly ash, boiler slag, tailings slag and industrial waste as raw materials for brick making.
According to the characteristics of the sand mixing process, the sand mixer can be divided into:
(1) Wheel-type sand mixer: mainly for rolling and rubbing
Appeared in the early 20th century, it is still widely used in the mixing of mold (core) sand with clay as a binder. This kind of sand mixer is equipped with rollers with a certain weight, and the rollers can revolve around the main shaft of the sand mixer and rotate around the roller shaft during sand mixing. The roller rubs the molding sand while rolling, so that the molding sand particles are covered with a film of adhesive. When mixing surface sand and core sand, the mixing quality is better than other sand mixers.
(2) Blade type sand mixer: mainly mixing
Used for mixing resin self-hardening sand. This type of sand mixer uses rotary blades. Dry sand enters two sand mixing tanks during sand mixing. The binder is added to one of the sand mixing tanks, and the hardener is added to the other sand mixing tank for pre-mixing with the original sand. The end outlet of the sand mixing tank enters the vertical agitator, and is discharged after rapid mixing to fill the sand box or core box. After filling, the passage of hardener and binder is automatically cut off, and at the same time, the sand inlet gate is closed and the remaining sand in the tank is removed.
(3) Counter-current sand mixer: both rubbing and mixing functions
With the development of high-speed and high-pressure automatic molding production lines, a new type of sand mixer for mixing clay green sand has emerged. The structural feature of this type of sand mixer is that a scraper and a high-speed rotor with blades are installed on the eccentric part of the sand mixer chassis. The chassis rotates clockwise, the rotor and the scraper rotate counterclockwise, and the rotor speed is higher than the speed of the chassis.
When mixing sand, because the chassis and rotor of the sand mixer have opposite motions and the speed is different, the molding sand on the chassis obtains different speed differences, and the corresponding friction and shear forces are generated between the sand particles, resulting in rubbing and mixing. The effect of crushing, etc. Not only the mixing efficiency is high, but the quality of the molding sand produced by the mixing is also great.
